In 1974, owner George Proffitt, former special agent, Office of Naval Intelligence (currently NCIS) opened the doors to what would become the finest floral shop in RI. It?s beginning was a bucket shop, offering a selection of local grown cut flowers out of an obsolete sporting goods shop and ice house. There was a leaky roof, no electricity nor running water. Water was carried from a nearby brook.

The shop grew into what would be known as a full-service florist and in 1981, burned to the ground in a tragic fire. George did not give up hope for his blooming business, he rebuilt the shop into what it is today!

Today, Ice House flowers features a large storefront featuring classic cut flowers, arrangements for every occasion, European Dishgardens, various plants, cards, balloons and giftware. We provide flower and gift deliveries to most of Rhode Island. Yes, send flowers seven days a week!
